People don't receive information in a format they need
Healthwatch England published an open letter to express their disappointment at the lack of progress on a review of the legally-binding Accessible Information Standard (AIS)
It’s been nearly a year since they launched the Your Care, Your Way campaign to highlight that everyone should receive healthcare in a format they need while calling to improve the AIS. The experiences from more than 7,000 people was shared, who struggled to access healthcare because they didn’t get information they can understand and communications support if they need it.
The letter calls on NHS England to publish the review of the AIS and clarify how they will take forward its recommendations.
