Report of themes from hospital ward visits

We made eleven visits to six wards at University Hospital Coventry. 

During these visit we asked how involved people feel in their care, communication, and discharge plans. We talked to patients, relatives and observed care and mealtimes.

For each report we produced findings and recommendations and the hospital set out action in response.

In this report we summarise themes across wards from the visits and highlight areas for the hospital to work on covering:

• Nursing care
• Food and nutrition
• Communication with patients
• Communication and involvement of loved ones /family carers
• Discharge planning and communication.
