New Healthwatch Coventry work priorities
Healthwatch Coventry Steering Group agrees priorities for our work
The Healthwatch Coventry Steering Group oversees our work. The group has new priorities for our work for the next six months.
The areas of work we will be doing are:
- Care on adult hospital wards - we will be visiting a number of wards at University Hospital Coventry. These are called Healthwatch Enter and View Visits.
- Enhanced health care in care home - we will use our experience of visiting care homes and finding out about resident health needs to work with the council and others to develop a way for care home residents to have more of a voice in their health
- Diagnostic scans and services - there is funding for a new centre with new MRI , CT and ultrasound scanners and facilities for other tests used to diagnose different health conditions such as lung function tests and heart tests such as ECGs. We are offering to help make sure this has a patient focus to the design and information about the service.
We will scope how Healthwatch can play a part in measuring the success of local NHS plans. We will talk to NHS leaders about how progress will be measured in relation to things like public trust in the NHS.
We will also be monitoring experiences of hospitals' complaints handling and NHS Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS) so we can make sure managers understand your experiences.
We will monitor progress on our work about
- digital inclusion and exclusion in NHS and care services
- access to GP services
- maternity care
